We are seeking a Head of Swimming to oversee and manage our Swimming teams. The successful applicant should present as a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, organised leader with a passion for Swimming and a demonstrated capacity to lead both coaches and students across all levels.  Working closely with the Director of Sport, the successful applicant will create and implement training programs;  manage operational aspects of the swimming program; in consultation with the Sports Department, communicate with students and parents; and consult / advise the Swimming coaches about student concerns/events which will impact training, attendance or performance.

Please refer to the Position Description for general criteria but specific KPI are:

  • Ensure the Coach Roster is accurately completed each week to ensure coaches are allocated appropriately to training sessions (including weekly trial meets and final AGSV Meet)
  • Check that all coaches have a documented session plan that is followed for all training sessions
  • Demonstrate a commitment to improving YVG swimmer performance
  • Communicate regularly with Sport Staff to update on training numbers, student feedback, coach feedback and any other relevant aspects of program
  • Assist Sport Staff to promote regular and clear communication of information with all YVG swimmers and parents, including advocacy/promotion of the swim program that may assist to attract additional swimmers to the team
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining accurate records of student performance data to assist with final team selection
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with swim team families that complete the majority of their training at external clubs
  • Demonstrate a commitment to identifying elite external swimming talent

Reporting to the Director of Sport, this is a varied and challenging role in a busy area of the School.  The role has clearly defined working hours and weeks, commencing Term 4 2025 through to the end of Term 1 2026.  An hourly rate will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.  Prior successful experience in school sport programs will be highly regarded.
